Marketing Communications and Recruitment

The Full Department consists of 19 FTE staff and is broadly split into three key areas of activity, although there is overlap between them. All are overseen by the Director of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment.

The Communications Team is led by the department’s Deputy Director, overseeing brand management, press and public relations, advertising campaigns, digital marketing, social media management, international communications, alumni relations and production of all marketing materials including the prospectus.

The Outreach Team is will be led by the Head of Student Recruitment. The team currently delivers a programme of outreach throughout the UK and Ireland via a broad range of regional and county shows, UCAS fairs, schools engagement, campus visits, open days, residentials, widening participation activities and other events. The team also manages the university’s student ambassador scheme.

The Uniconnect team delivers a programme of targeted school-based interventions in line with the Government’s Access and Participation in Higher Education strategy.

The Head of Student Recruitment will need to support and enable seamless working between their team and the others to ensure that best use is made of the resources available to the Department and that cross-team working is encouraged to meet the major objectives of the Department.
